Every little boy needs a hero

"Little boys are actually super heros in disguise." anonymous
Jett has been blessed to have so many people that he can look up to, I am confident he will live a life surrounded by people that he will think of as heros. The most obvious would be a loving Heavenly father and our savior Jesus Christ. And of course The man he refers to as"dadaa" or "ky-la." But sometimes the people we admire most in life may not be much older then a six year old little boy.

The little mister was taking a bath with all of his cousins when my sister handed him a bath color (something that he now has to have in every single bath....he loves watching the water magically change into something wonderful!)  not knowing what it was he instantly popped it into his mouth. Before my sister or I had a chance to react  to his sour face his six year old cousin jumped into the bath tub fully dressed, ripped off his shirt and began to wipe out Jetts mouth asking him if he was okay. He then grabbed a bath color (happened to be yellow which made his little grin afterwards that much cuter) and popped it into his mouth so that my little mister wouldn't feel alone.
That my friends is what a hero is made of.
Not to mention he let Jett play with all of his toys.
I think it is safe to say Jett will love this little boy forever. Because it is pretty hard not to.

My older sister his so so kind and compassionate, I suppose  it is only natural that her three small children would pick up on that trait....: )

Happy Friday!!

entertainment at its best

I have been in my pajamas for two straight days....I am not sick and The Husband is not impressed.... My little mister has been a little under the weather. Besides my undivided attention he requires lots and lots of yogurt. I took a leap of faith and did something I swore I wasn't going to do until he was 5. I plugged in the movie Tangled and watched the magic of television take over. It was liberating mixed in with not as much guilt as I thought I would have. I smiled as I watched his mouth gaped open and him  blinking about every 15 minutes. Who would have known that the boy who is the definition of perpetual motion was capable of sitting still that long? I am maybe a little to excited about this discovery.

But even more exciting and most definitely way more entertaining then some telvision was having my sister, her husband and four of her children (and grand baby) come visit! Jett had the time of his life with his older cousins who chased him, played cars with him and laughed at everything he did. Jett even got his first little shiner this weekend. The best part is nobody seems to know how it happened....haha

This handsome guy scooped our entire driveway by hand! He worked for hours to surprise us! My heart has officially melted. What a sweet boy he and his brothers are! He even came in and built me a fire. I want the little Mister to be just as thoughtful at the tender age of 9. Compliments to their Mama.

I was able to sneak off and attend this Christmas Devotional....it was so warm and peaceful in the conference center.....then they turned down the lights...I knew I was a goner.

Luckily I became wide awake right at the end to hear the Prophet speak. It was nothing short of wonderful. I needed something to pull at my heart strings.

I photographed a birth

My twin sister gave birth to the cutest little boy. Baby Dallas
I am not sure what it is about birth stories and photography that I am completely obsessed with. I think it is because there is something so miraculous about every single story I read or photo I see.  What a privilege it was to witness something so perfect come into this world. Every newborn brings with them something the world has never seen before. I can't help but be inspired by that. To read the story please go here. I choke up every time! 24 hours of labor!!  She did so well and is so so strong! After 15 hours of labor with my little Mister I was ready to tap out.....24 hours seems unthinkable!

One of the most touching/beautiful birth story that I have ever read was the birth of baby Nella. You can read it here. Bring some kleenex, actually bring the whole box , it is that incredible.

The birth photographer that I am most admire would be hands down  be  Jessica kettle! This story she photographed is exceptionally beautiful.

Jett decided to make our Thanksgiving more exciting......poor guy!

My heart stops any time the Husband wears this shirt.....I was melting all day!
Before we embarked on our 7 hour drive to Boise I noticed My little mister tugging at his ear.....I almost didn't take him to see his pediatrician....maybe it was because I had been in countless times with my little guy just for them to tell me he was doing great.....but most likely it was  because all week I had been planning on the last minute to get everything packed and ready to go. Luckily my better judgement (her name is Candi) told me to take him in.

We left the pediatricians with a prescription to treat a horrible double ear infection! The doctor described my little Mister as one of those "silent sufferers." Yep I think I just ensured my spot as mother of the year! Before the peditrician left the room he popped his head in to tell/warn us that the antibiotic he prescribed would probably make everything go straight through the mister. I smiled politely not thinking much of what I thought to be an off-handed comment. The Husband and I would soon find out exactly what that doctor meant! This my friends was just the icing on the cake....The cherry on top would be the lack of naps he took throughout the week.

Despite that, we had the very best of Thanksgiving weeks. The husband prepared a sweet heart turkey roast and it was so tender you could cut that baby like butter! Grandma Johnson made her sogoodbetyoucan'tjusteatonepiece apple pie. I made pumpkin pie filling for the first time ....and think I was the only person that realized how amazing it tasted :)Not to mention all the visiting that inevitably took place. My sweet mother-in-law is responsible for all the other holiday magic that we felt that weekend. Thank you!  The only thing missing was a certain Cherry family!

The Mister loved taking toys playing with his too cute for words cousin Bronco.

One thing that has been racing through my mind this
holiday season is this thought:
