Remember our sister weekend in Salt Lake City last year? Our sister weekend this year was just like that trip but on steroids. All seven of us sisters packed our bags and kissed and hugged and kissed our little families goodbye and set off on a trip of a life time.
We were on our way to Huntsville Alabama for Martha Pullens School of Art Fashion A.K.A seven days of sewing camp gone wild! I was completely enamored/infatuated/smitten with their southern accents, it took all my self control not to pick one right up. Every person that we met was so sweet and down to earth and that my friends was just the icing on the cake :)
Top 10 highlights of our sisters week.
1. Candi settling into her seat next to a solider on our last flight. Trying to be polite and make small talk she mentioned what a long day she had had. He asked her where she was flying from. She told him she had flown all the way from Utah. He said he was coming home from his deployment in Iraq.
I couldn't stop lauging actually as I am typing this I am still laughing. I guess they were both tired haha.
2. Seven sisters and a Mom sporting not only matching necklaces but housecoats...
3. Taking turns flaunting Hillary's beautiful baby Shayne and loving when ladies would approach us and say with the most perfect southern draw "what a beautiful baby! She looks just like her Mama." Turns out baby Shayne looks just like every one of us :)
4. Having a dessert (and someone else's) with every meal and not even thinking twice about it (until I got home and saw the most awpaulling number on my scale)
5. The hairspray and compliments that were flying in the air every morning before we made a mad dash to breakfast. If any of our love buckets weren't full before we came I am sure they were over flowing when we left. It turns out that I have a cute style, jewelry, eyebrows, sewer, shoes ect... just one of the many reasons me and my ego love sisters weekend.
6. Sitting in the hot tub before bed.....what? it helps all of us sleep better :)
7. We laughed until it hurt....
8. Then we laughed some more.
9.The sweden hunk Urban Zundt heheh. The Justin Bieber equivalent for the senior citizen sewing crowd. Lets just say somehow that man was able to pull off a shirt with two big green dragons embroidered on the back....
10. Last but not least learning a new skill and leaving with the confidence to take on the world, one garment at a time.

Thank you Madre for one heck of a trip!!! And not to mention memories that I am sure will last a life time! You are the best! Just ask any of us ;)
And of course a group shot with Thee Martha Pullen. She is the Oprah Winfrey of the sewing community. And look who is head to head with her!!!
I really, really love my sisters.
