cheap vase + spray paint = double thumbs up

By Cate.

There is something that makes me deliriously happy about fresh cut flowers (Kyler this is me totally, completely and very publicly hinting ;) After those lovely flowers have reigned with beauty I am always stuck with a cheap clear vase that I never can seem to part with.....In my cupboard they sat just collecting dust waiting for the day for me to bust out some ecru spray paint and see them for what they had...potential! I went through my home collecting twine from the garage, nail polish, scrap fabric, a broken baby bracelet, an old Urban Outfitter magazine, glitter glue.....and I have know idea where those wooden swans came from (now I am living in fear someone is going to claim them and question me on why I glued them on to a vase.....?)  Off to work I went....so simple and yet so rewarding....it feels like a more personal way to deliver flowers and cost only cents to create....double thumbs up!

Speaking of things that make me deliriously happy.....

Here is to a Thursday that is nothing but happy!

oh and brickyard buffalo is having an auction for those sweet angels from Sandy Hook elementary school!

p.s. this snow session I did for my cousin makes me smile....you can hardly tell we never left my driveway thanks to all the white stuff!

  1. You're a little genius mama! Fantastic idea. I have been known to constantly give my vases away, or sell them.. just to get them out of my house. Now I see that this would be a much better idea! They look so so so good!

And can we talk about that little sweet baby girl of yours?! Heart-melting child. <3

  2. So cute! I have an entire cupboard full of old vases that just sit there. My boys would love a new project. I wonder what we could come up with. I'm sure they wouldn't be as pretty but, oh the possibilities!
