Stay a while won't you? Guest Room

This room is the home to everything thrifted, gifted and where the heck should we put this?  Oh and the room for my beloved friends and family when they pay us a visit. I love having space for our guest and dream of one day having a guess suite! Actually I daydream of living closer to mine or Kylers family. We have lived in Utah for 3 years and I often wonder when the home sickness will wear off? But ever so slowly I am starting to make friends (I am very shy...if you meet me in real life you might think someone ghost writes this thing...ha)
and the veil of loneliness is starting to lift! My soul is rejoicing.

In some ways I envy the mothers of the past where you see photos of them all doing laundry in the river together....Not that I would be willing to give up my washing machine for anything. I simply envy the closeness they must of had with each other. Motherhood can be isolating at times. And as much as I love talking to my sisters and Madre multiple times a day on the phone (I really, really do) and peeking on the lives of my BBF (best blog friends) The distance makes  It is super hard to give you hug or make you lunch ;)
Side note my friend (and I love saying that) is baby sitting the pillows I normally have on that bed and so I stole those little numbers off of my sofa and regretted it when I uploaded the photos...haha I should have just kept it simple...lesson probably has not been learned :)

So The Husband and I have been flirting with some pretty drastic decision for a few years...More like we have beaten them to death, put them to rest only for one of us to resurrect them again! It is so hard to sort out what is best with my strong will. I am the type of girl that If I want it bad enough I will try to make it happen. Take that brief case for example, I just knew it would make the perfect photography prop for a snugly newborn. It wasn't for sale and to make a long story short now I have it holding up a lamp that I still need to make a shade for. But I am really trying to listen to what our Heavenly Fathers plans is for our little family of four. I pray that I can be in tune and smart enough to simply listen.

  5. Beautiful! Thank you for the inspiration! We have a guest room, but priority-wise it hasn't been high on the decorating to-do list! I need to change that! Great job!

  9. You did a beautiful job, Cate! I love the bed and it is a great focal point in this room. Love how the balloon shade fabric picks up the colors in the area rug.
