The best kind of day...with the birds

Sometimes you can only read and sing about farm animals so much before your children are ready for the real deal (well sorta the real deal;) You might be asking yourself ...How as a parent do you know when your child is ready? Well you really don't....We came last year..that was a bit soon..But when Dallas (my sweet nephew) was mooing at every cow and Jett has been chasing me around our home with his stuffed swan yelling "bawk- BAWK- bawk!" We thought it just might be time!
Oh and we were right! After being cooped up with sick babies for a seemingness endless winter the sunshine and fresh air were more than welcomed! Our souls feel rejuvenated.  Good things are starting to happen....I can just feel it! My spirits seem to lift and fall with the sun. Thankfully the sun has been shining!
Jett kept on poking his little fingers through the chicken wire to feed the birds. He shocked us when he turned and said "Tur-tey?"  A few of the very happiest kind of tears were shed over that seemingly simple word.

That little boy of mine has taught me (in the words of my older sister) that "love is not always heard but felt" Oh but when he does speak my soul rejoices. I can't wait to hear what he has to say! More often than I care to admit I lay awake at night imagining him saying that he loves me back :) Which really is quite silly....I mean he isn't even Three. I just can't help but wonder what is going on in that beautiful mind of his....I am hoping that someday soon he will tell me what he is thinking.....I would love that.
People (as in complete strangers) are starting to ask me questions....in not the kindness way or manner about my Jett.

I am having a hard time not hating (it makes me a bit queasy that I am dropping the "H" word so loosely) them for it.....I sometimes wish it would be socially acceptible  to simply punch them in the face....;) I just don't feel like my eyebrow shooting up and telling them to go to H -E- double hockey sticks with the look in my eyes... stings quite badly enough..;) Especially because it always seems to be followed with me smiling sweetly at them .....and  talking overly cheerful....I blame my Mom for teaching me to always be kind....HAHA

On a happier note------I can't help but love myself some cute little cowboys in training!!!  They were the sweetest! And Winnie made the best cheerleader!! I think I would rather have a Shetland pony than a Dog...who wants to talk Kyler into that for me? any takers?? I will let your children come over for rides anytime you like! I promise.

My hair is going from dark chocolate to carmel and hopefully this week I will be a "Blondie" I speak dessert fluently ;) Kyler saw this photo and said "Cate look at the kids"....anyone else guilty of only looking at themselves in photos??? haha

I never anticipated seeing my child behind bars making my heart melt....oh but it did! And what type of mother laughs as hard as I was??

It is safe to say today was the best kind of day....

It truly was! Thanks Mike and Candi for inviting us!

Here is to remembering it :)

*For anyone who was worried about my very pregnant  lovely twin sister getting nauseous with all the different animals "aromas"  that we encountered....It was making me sick so naturally I was concerned for her....She said she LOVED the smell it made her feel at home ...But Candi was a former shepherd turned dental hygienist  HAHA so the verdict is still out if she was kidding about wishing they had a candle in the farm animal scent...!!
